Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few questions you might have before inquiring about booking music for your wedding or event. This page covers fees, sound, and travel range.

How Much Do You Charge?

My rates begin at $400 for a wedding ceremony. Weddings further out may incur additional charges. To add a cocktail hour to the wedding ceremony, it is an additional $100. Wedding receptions or rehearsal dinners may vary depending on the length of time. Please understand-I have a maximum play time of three hours. I no longer accept bookings for four hour performances.

Do You Take Requests?

I do take requests. I will learn up to two custom songs for your ceremony if needed. However, please understand that not everything is playable on guitar (if the song is particularly talky rather than melodic). In addition, if the song is particularly difficult there may be an additional fee for the time required to learn the material. When possible, I encourage everyone to choose songs from my list as those are the ones I’ve played hundreds of times.

What Do You Wear?

I’ll never forget when one bridge told me during a meeting, “Whatever you do, do NOT wear white socks with black shoes!” Apparently, she had once hired a musician that did that. I always default to a suit for weddings; however, if I notice that the guests are more casual, I will remove my coat. A nice button up dress shirt and dress pants is the minimum. I will discuss this with you prior to the wedding.

Do you use amplification?

If you have over 75 guests for your event, I encourage the use of some amplification. I have a small speaker that I bring that will maintain the acoustic qualities of my instrument. The goal is to amplify it just enough that everyone can hear but not be too loud. I am SUPER conscious about getting the volume levels perfect. If you wish to hire me for the cocktail hour or reception, I will always bring amplification. This is partly so I can hear myself play, 75 people talking is surprisingly loud.

Do You Travel Outside of North Georgia?

Most of the weddings I do are in North Georgia. However, I do occasionally travel further to North Carolina or Tennessee for weddings. At some point, it may be more cost-effective to book someone in one of the other states.

Do you play with other musicians?

I have a wide variety of instruments I perform with. I have a violinist I do duos with sometimes. I normally can find someone of most any instrument if you have something unusual in mind. However, playing solo acoustic guitar is my mainstay and speciality.
