I’d love to provide an exact quote tailored to your special day, but pricing depends on details like the location, length of performance, and specific requests. To help you get started, here are my starting rates for various parts of a wedding—ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions—so you can see if I’m a good fit for your budget.
“We hired Jody to play guitar while our guests arrived at our wedding, to play the music during our wedding ceremony, and then to play background music during our cocktail hour. Though we did not get to personally meet Jody, I spoke with him on the phone and emailed with him back and forth. He was very responsive and communicative throughout the whole process. He was able to accommodate our song requests and played beautifully. We got numerous compliments about his playing and would recommend him for other similar situations!“-Sydney T (Wedding Ceremony)
Solo Guitar Music For Wedding Ceremonies

“Jody Hughes is a super talented guitarist. I reviewed his sample videos, but the live performance was truly all we wanted and more. He reached out to us and asked if we had any special requests as far as genre’ or specific songs. He added everything we asked for into his repertoire’ for our event. We got so many compliments from our guests. We will definitely use Jody Again for any events we may have and strongly recommend him for yours!“-Jodi R Rehearsal Dinner, Duluth, GA
My wedding ceremony packages start at $400
This includes the following:
- Thirty minutes of prelude music as guests arrive (sets the mood and atmosphere)
- Music as the family (or groomsmen walk in)
- Music as bridesmaids walk in
- Processional
- Recessional
Most weddings I play usually have just three songs (one for family/bride/as you exit). The 30 minutes of prelude music will consists of whatever music you’d like to set the mood. This music is generally slow and relaxing, nothing fast. I do take up to two special requests and will learn songs for your special day. However, there may be an additional charge if the requests are difficult for me to learn. Usually this isn’t the case if you have one or two add-ons. Location can of course increase the price. Most wedding ceremonies I play end up being around $400.

Duo Music For Wedding Ceremonies
I can add a violin or another instrument for additional $375. Once again, this is a base rate assuming no very difficult pieces of music that require extra rehearsing.
Solo Guitar For Cocktail Hours
To add a cocktail hour to a wedding ceremony, it is an addition $100. My rates to play only a cocktail hour are the same as a wedding ceremony. This is due to the amount of time/travel involved, even if it equals less playing time.
Solo Acoustic Guitar For Wedding Receptions
My base rate for two hours of wedding reception music is $450. I no longer do performances over three hours in length. Three hours of wedding reception music is $550 withstanding any extra location/travel charges.
